Pleco and Goldfish Nutrition

Hello

i have 2 plecos and about 12 goldfish (2-5 inch)
in a 72 gal bow front

when it comes to the plecos
all i feed them is koi and goldfish food.
I do have algea disks but i think they preffer the fish pellets
is there any problems with this?
they are growing rather fast and they have vibrant colors
they come to the top and eat the goldfish food

I feed my goldfish four types of food every day.
its all mixed

3 types of pellets and sticks in one container

Satori Koi and Goldfish Food
Growth (small pellets)

Hikari Gold Koi Specialists' Fish food
(Red Orange Yellow bag)
(mini pellets)

Tetra Pond Variety Sticks
Vitamin Enriched
soften quickly on contact with water

2 or 3 types of flakes in a different container

Wardley
Tertra Flakes
Troplcal punch out flakes

I think this is enough variety for my fish
Anyone have any thoughts?

As far as i can see my fish love the food and they do seem to be growing rather fast.

Variety is definitely the key, and it sounds like you are giving it. Common plecos, if that is what you have, often stop eating algae after they get a certain size and will eat regular fish food (mine used to eat floating pellets, too - pretty amusing!), and in the absence of food they might try sucking the slime coat off the goldfish.

Try some softened spinach or Romaine lettuce, rubber-banded to a rock, and the goldies might appreciate that as well.

Well, it keeps the algae down! Your pleco sounds healthy and so do the goldfish.

im glad im giving enough variety.
i guess its never enough

i usually buy the food in larger quantities (18oz and up)so I spend about $100 every time i buy food .
Ill buy 5 diffeent bags and mix them all up in a large tupperware container
but i only buy food two maybe three times a year

Im looking for optimal growth so any suggestions would be great
