Pleco with broken fin

My plecos little fin is broken. What can I do?

Is it torn or is he/she clamping the fin? If it is torn and not infected (no white fuzz or anything) then crystal clear water is all you really need. I had a kribensis that had got her tail fin nipped pretty bad and all it took was two weeks in my QT with lots of water changes for it to grow back.

It's hard to describe. It's like dangling from a little piece of skin, but the bone is broken.

fish can and do survive with some of their fins completely torn off. All you can do is keep the water very clean. He should heal up with the fin or without.

One thing about the plecos, is that they don't really swim, more like glide around. He won't miss his fin all that much I don't think.
