The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!

Not usually but they can defend themselves, they are not real happy with conspefics so kept singly is better. Bear in mind they can reach two foot or more so they need a large home. Do to sheer size they tend to bump into things and fish.

Plecos can be kept with another Pleco aslong as they were introduced to the aquarium at a young age and at the same time.

Idk if they will like eachother, but they will be use to eachother and won't be aggressive towards eachother. But depending on what pleco you get you probably shouldn't get more then one because they do get big.

Go to the bristlenose species.. they do an amazing job in limiting algae, only get 4 inches and are fairly active even in daylight. Or you can go candy stripe which also stay around 4 inches. Not quite as active.. at least mine aren't.
