Plecostomus Isn't Doing Anything

I bought a rubber lip pleco about a week ago and so far all he's doing is hiding in a driftwood cave in my tank, he hasn't come out in over a week, why is this?

Welcome to life with a pleco, they are more fun in the middle of the night with a blacklight

Plecos are mostly nocturnal. With that said though, is this a new tank? Was it cycled before you bought the fish? Did you test for ammonia, etc? Toxins in the water can cause fish to act stressed. Here are some links for you just in case:

There is only one pleco that I know of that tends to be active during the day and that is Albino Bristlenose Pleco's. I have a longfinned albino bnp and she is almost always visable and active when the tank lights are on.
