Great link! Mebbid, you know I can't figure out pics....but feel free to post any of my initial tank pics. I have added bamboo (fake....as I'm no where as experienced or awesome as you all), but I will definitely add pics after my cloudiness dissipates. Again...great thread! I love seeing the changes, and the tanks are so beautiful!

I've only had my tank since March-ish, but I have a few pics.
~April '13
~Late June
~early July
A few days later...
And today...serious bacterial bloom happening right now clearly.
I've been having issues with getting the stupid thing to cycle again (had to treat w/ antibiotics back in late May or early June) so hopefully things will stabilize soon. I have a piece of driftwood to add hopefully soon too. It's finally starting to sink some so maybe in the next week or so it'll be waterlogged enough to add in.

It's always nice to see people that manage to have a really nice tank with fake plants. I haven't seen many but this is one of them.

Wow, those swords grew a lot I also like your rock plateau, where did you get it?
Have you thought about gluing the driftwood to a piece of slate? It should keep it a bit more secure and is easy to bury under the substrate.

They really have! Unfortunately the clump on the left is looking a little sad right now. I recently started adding flourish comp. and root tabs and last week I failed miserably at trying to put in some osmocote via ice cubes, but they're looking a little pale and maybe becoming a little translucent. My lighting is nowhere near what it should be but I'm currently limited by both budget and the fact that there are very few fixtures out there that will fit my tank (which is only about 13” wide).
As for the rock plateau...I have no idea. I dug it out of the empty tank sitting in my brother's garage when I was setting this tank up. He may have gotten it when he had the tank up a few years ago or it may have come with the tank when I inherited it from a friend who was moving. Regardless, its been a number of years!
The driftwood has been soaking for a week now and it's definitely sinking some now. It's sort if y shaped and the longest, broadest portion sinks and the shorter piece is still floating. It's still turning the water slightly yellow so I'll keep changing the water for a few more days and hopefully that last bit will waterlog soon. If not I'll go for the weighting option.

My 15 gallon column. This is from when I started in February.
And this is as of about 2 weeks ago!
This is my 10 gallon in January.
This is the 10 gallon in June. The only picture I have is with moonlights!
And the 10 gallon as of Friday! Both tanks came along nicely!

Okay so my post was completely messed up.... The 15 gallon is now setup with the rocks that I get outside at a waterfall. The ten has three sound rocks side by side and dwarf Hairgrass on both ends of the tank. Didn't mean to post my adf's at all.....

Over the course of a few weeks lol. Now it has black n white gravel, a big rock with a white glass knot on top, a piece of lucky bamboo, and a slate a-frame cave thing I made with some old slate I had.
Went from having 6 danios, to now 1 zebra danio (all the other ones killed each other), 1 Chinese algae eater, and 3 red minor Serpae tetras. Plan on more tetras.
Normal fluorescent aquarium light in the day, with blue LEDs and black light combo in evening, and black light only at night.... Gotta love a trippy black light atmosphere plan on switching to waterproof led strips controlled by remote...
This is a work in progress, slowly get more as the money becomes avail lol

My driftwood finally decided to sink so I rearranged today! I'm not sure if I'm 100% happy with it but I like the look the driftwood adds.
I feel like it needs something else in the back left corner that has some height, and I need to find some moss or something for on the driftwood. Always a work in progress!

So I finally found some other plants to add a little height in the back. My LFS claimed its cabomba, but I'm leading more towards hornwort because its been growing like crazy in low light.
That was last weekend.
And this is today, after pruning quite a bit and adding some java moss to the driftwood and splitting out some of the java fern sprouts.
I'm mostly happy with it now. Just waiting on my snails to arrive to help clean up the dead leaves and such that I can never seem to net out...

It just looks so much darker than the pics I've seen of cabomba and it's growing like a champ so I wasn't sure. But glad to hear I'm not the only one who's experienced that! It's been growing almost an inch/day and I doubt I even have 1 watt/ gal!
