Well, it's a custom built, 100 gallon, bow front tank. The person who sold it to me put in a fixture fitted for 2 T8 25 watt bulbs. The tank seems pretty bright, actually. But I know there is light that only plants can pick up too.

Maybe a clip on LED light for a nano tank might work?

I don't know too much about LEDs but I wouldn't think one made for a nano would work too well. If you can remove the fixture from the hood you could replace it with a duel t5 or t5ho one. That will give off more light.
