I have a 15 gallon tank that is filled with water and has no gravel (no fish). I ordered some gravel from thatpetplace.com and I am waiting for it to get here. I was wondering if I could dump the gravel in there with the water in the tank or would I have a big mess? Thanks!

Rinse the gravel well before you dump it in, and then it would be fine.

You should ALWAYS rinse bought gravel thouroughly.

Thanks guys I'll do that!!! I'm pretty messy too so I better :D

Remember that the gravel will displace some water. I would remove about 5 gallons, add the washed gravel, then refill.

Thanks, I was wondering if that was going to happen and planned on doing it.
