Prochilodus Help!

I've got a Prochilodus, about 5 1/2 to 6 inches long. I want to know how old he is, if anybody knows how to tell. The internet isn't much help, and there's not too much information on these oddball fish out there. Can someone help please???

Out of curiosity, why do you need to know its age?

I want to know how long he has to live to know if it's worth it to get this new tank set up I have planned. I saw some smaller prochiloduses in another fish store, they were abou a third of his size but already juvinile.

Knowing the general lifespan on the fish wouldn't hurt either.
