Purigen regeneration?

So I recharged my Purigen by following the directions and now it smells funny. Not like chlorine per se but kind of sour. Anyone tried this?

yea, let it soak in dechlorinated water for a few hours till chlorine smell is gone and your good to go

Yes, I'v done it a lot.

If its a odd rubbery type of smell. That your smelling after the recharge is done and the purigen is still wet. Then its normal. It just cant still have a strong or clear bleach smell as well. If you get that I would give it another 50/50 prime and water soak with a good rinse to make sure.

Yea that's the smell. Ok. I did the soak for 8 hours, so maybe one more time just to safe. The bleach makes me nervous...
