I purchased two mats of dwarf baby tears though an online vender. I just received them earlier today and they are planted on coco fiber mats with wiring. I was wondering, will they spread if I just put the mat into the tank or do I have to separate the roots?

I think they'll spread faster if you separate them and plant them a couple centimeters apart.

Make sure you have the proper lights, CO2 and fertilizer though, or they may not grow all that much or at all. I think Dwarf Baby Tears are one of the more difficult carpeting plants to grow.

Ya I have it all. I was just trying to avoid having to cut the mat up because its going to be tedious and I am not exactly the most patient person in the world (hehe). Thanks for the advice :)
