Hi all,

So as the summer is descending upon the northeast I'm noticing the temperature of my tank is getting higher and higher. Even during the cooler months, the lights seemed to keep the temp around 78*, despite the heater being set down at 72*. Today the temperature spiked all the way up to 85*!

I'm concerned that this might be too much for my inhabitants. They are as follows:
6 zebra danio
4 corydoras melini
1 corydoras peppered
6 amano shrimp
2 mystery snail

I just ordered a fan setup from Amazon that should be here on Friday, so hopefully that will help. But I'm still curious in general what experiences people have had with higher summer temps.

As long as the temperature does not change daractically over 3 degrees an hour it should cause a problem. It is worth noting however that if an aquarium is always at such high heat your fish lifespan could be decreased.
