I put a small handful of CC in my filter and was wondering how long does it take to take effect? It's been a day and a half, and my kh has not changed any yet.

A while back ago, it was a consistant 80 for kh. But now it's 60. It goes up to 70 for a couple days after PWC, then is 60 consistantly. I'm hoping that a small handful will be enough. 
Now what do I do with the rest of my CC? hehe. Smallest bag I could find is 15lbs. lol.
