Question on filter

Got a question I know it gonna sound stupid just wanna make sure. I got a aqua clear 30 and 70 in a 55 gallon tank but I wanna clean both filters can I do it at the same time or change it one at a time?

Clean it or change the media? You can clean both by swishing them in old tank water during a water change. If you change the media one at a time would be better. The bacteria lives in the filter media mostly. Changing both medias at the same time will remove all of it.

Don't change or clean both media at once. Did that once, bad idea. Lost all my good bacteria. Change/ clean one this month, and the other next month.

Kind of a pain, but better in the long run.
