I have a couple of questions about Eco Complete:

- will it help with non rooted plants? (java fern, anubias etc)

- do you need to rinse it before placing in tank? wouldn't this remove any nutrients in the substrate?

thanks

It's a great substrate. In regards to non rooted plants, it has no effect on them whatsoever. If you have no rooted plants it's pretty much a wasted investment. It does not need to be rinsed either as its pretty clean out of the bag. It may cloud the water at first but the filter will quickly clear everything up in a day, possibly two it all depends on how efficient your filter is and how much substrate.

Actually Eco has a water clairier in it which works pretty darn good. I have Eco in all my tanks and like it alot but as already stated it won't do anything for non-rooted plants.

thanks for the replies and because of it I went with black sand for the same effect with much less cost.
