Update on testing issues - is this odd
Did a 50% water change. This time I used tap water and Amquel Plus as well as a conditioner. I got the following readings after waiting almost 2 hours:
Ammonia .5
N2 0-.15 (nitrIte)
N3 0-2.5 (nitrAte)
PH 7.4
Prior to the water change, earlier today, where water had been treated with Prime, I got the following readings:
Ammonia 2
N2 0-.25
N3 0
PH 7.4
It looks as though switching back to the Amquel lowered the ammonia. I added the Amquel to the bucket from the tap and a little more directly into the aquarium. I did NOT allow the new Amquel water settle over night.
What are your thoughts? Everyone raves about Prime, but I'm wondering if I should stick with Amquel plus. I know I still need to get the ammonia and N2 to 0 and maintain a positive N3 reading, but perhaps with one more water change, it will happen.
Thanks again for all of your feedback.
