most people are satisfied with their water. others have fish that need a lower ph than the kind they have so they mix like 50/50 ro/tap to lower the ph. most peoples tap water/conditioner work good. oh my mistake you have the filtering system. i thought u were going to get the bottles. some people buy the ro systems just for the fish tank. its really your preferance. conditioner/tap or to water.

Make sure if you do decide to use ro water you look into a bit of water chemistry. You will need to use additives to ensure your water is appropriate for your fish.

Using ro water will give you a real stable water quality to start with but as shaw said you may need additives because ro strips alot of the needed minerals out of the water.

Like shawmut said, look into your water chemistry first. If you want to lower your hardness then go with a 50/50 (or near) mix of RO and tap water. If there is nothing wrong with your water then don't mess with it.

Since you already have an RO system I would use RO water to compensate for evaporation.

ok, i'll use it for evap loss, but for water changes i'll stick with tap water/conditioner... although, i kindda think our whole house is supposed to be slightly soft, not passed through a ro filter, its just supposed to be softer. but on the test strip everthing is always normal? hardness is always around 120ppm.

only reason i thoguht of it was because i saw a picture of the ro filter, and thought, hmm we have one of those under our sink. lol i have access to ro filtered water!!! could this be good for my fish? lol it was a thought process kindda like that.

thanks!!!
