Ram Pairing

Bought a gold ram last night. (very nice looking fish) Done some research on rams today and it looks like they do better in pairs. Would I have to pair it with another gold ram, or could I pair it with a different type ram, like a electric blue ram, or blue ram?

It doesnt matter what type of ram you pair it with. It might be useful to determine its sex.

Yes male and female and color morph doesn't matter. Depends on which color you want for sexing
