Random Cloudy Water

Hello everyone,

Recently I have been having cloudy water in my 55 gallon tank and I really dont know the cause of it.

The tank has been set up for over 2 years with crystal clear water until now.
I have not added any fish for a year or more.
Water tests within normal levels using the API Master Kit
Regular 50% weekly water changes done.
I have 2 canister filters that I clean regularly.

I'm pretty much stumpped, the only thing I can think of is that I haven't changed the foam filter pads in a long time. I squeese them out in old tank water to get as much waste out as possible as part of my cleaning.

Does anyone else think that could be the cause?

I wouldn't change the pads as long as you rinse them occasionally. Maybe too much rinsing going on?
In "normal" conditions I would say rinse them every 4-6 months. I like the fact that you change 50% water weekly.
What size tank and stock?

Have the fish grown consideritly and do you vacuum the substrate regularly
