Raphael Catfish Structure

Hi!

I have an African cichlid tank with a Raphael Catfish. Although I have a few decent size caves in my aquarium my catfish has decided to make a very big plant his home as he tucks himself into it so he’s hidden. With him moving through it so much he uprooted the plant and tore away the main pieces and now he is not able to hide. Any suggestions on adding some new hiding spots? Natural driftwood isn’t an option for me as it drops the PH too much. Should I just totally remove the plant and see if it goes into one of the caves instead?

A Striped or Spotted Raphael Cat?

I would find a realistic, there are some very nice ones, stump/DW style looking piece. Or you could build a "cave" with stones.

You might try some larger Anubias stems.

What was the plant it tore up?

What size is the fish, and does/did it seem to enjoy vertical or horizontal resting?
