Rena filstar problems cleaning?

Every time I go to remove the lid on this canister the water pours out. I always lift the lever thing up and wait for the water to retreat down the tubes but still the canister floods?

Lift the lever then slowly wriggle the top off and the water stays in he canister , it's just a matter of getting used to it, sometimes it pours out on me, other times nothing !!

Good luck and always keep a towel handy

Okay, it's just a pain because mine is inside a cabinet in the stand and the cabinet has a bottom.

How about using a tray under it that will catch the spills ? At the moment mine is just on a tiled floor so its not a problem but when my new tank gets built it will be inside a cabinet and i planned to get a big plastic tray for under it..

That's a good idea! I'll have to look for something.
