Rocky backgrounds

Hi all. Just a quick question... I really don't like the rolled up backgrounds you find at most fish stores. I actually just turned mine around and use black. But I've seen in many tanks, a rocky background.

Is this a DIY project or can you purchase these backgrounds somewhere?

If it's a DIY project, out of 5 hammers, 5 being the most difficult, how many hammers would you give it?

There are places that sell these that install inside your tank. I don't recall the place, but if you search for 3D aquarium backgrounds you should find it.

You can also search the DIY section for 3d backgrounds if you want to DIY one yourself. It can range from easy to very diffcult depending on how technical you want to get.

There is a thread, I think made by Glitch IIRC, where it shows how he made a slate rock background. It looked VERY complicated and labor intensive and HEAVY.

It came out beautifully though.
