I'm setting up a African cichlids tank. Since I have a saltwater tank as well I've got a rodi water unit. I'm wondering if I can use that water for the freshwater setup? Or am I going to miss out on some minerals because the water is too clean?

IMO the last thing you want for AC is RO water..?
I kept Africans because I had hard well water...
They would do worse then a soft water fish in hard water ,if you understand how osmoregulation works.
Hang on to that ro unit though as you never know when you might want to try some South American cichlids or a wild type fish that may require softer water...
