So I've recently changed up my tank to have five longfin rosy barbs and five female Platy's. (and swapped my HOB filter for a fluval 206 canister filter ☺) I'm used to platys but barbs are new for me... What I don't get is why they follow my platys around and eat their poop?!?
Is this normal or abnormal, they don't just eat then spit out, they make a meal or if it... And seem to really enjoy it...That can't be healthy can it?
They eat regular food happily and appear very healthy and happy in my tank - I just find that one behaviour rather odd. Maybe in not feeding them enough? I do two generous pinches of food (mixing up between bug pellets, flakes, wafers, algae flakes and the occasional veg) twice a day (morning and evening).
Either way I'm loving them in my tank though, such pretty fish! And they've got a fun personality too ?
