Has anyone out there put sea shells in their thank for decorations. I have a heavily planted tank that I was thinking of adding some sea shells to it for decoration and wondered if it would effect the water some?

Yes it will affect the water. They will put off calcium and mess with your water parameters. Don't do it.

I had sea shells over long period of time 5 years to be exact if you, like mostly every one use carbon media they will break down excess calcium, and snail, shrimps and fish use calcium present in the water, so every water change you add tiny bit calcium to the tank.
