Hi all- just a few questions. The many YouTube tutorials I've watched weren't as helpful as I would have hoped.
I'm going to get a sponge filter for my fry/quarantine tank, and I know have a notion of how to set it up, but I'm still unsure.

I plan on getting this sponge filter:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056XVF82/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3BIBD4THJ69F3

And this air pump:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009YJ4N6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

And some tubing as well.

I also know I need a check valve, but I'm not sure where that goes or what kind to get?

Last question- do I need an airstone? I heard that they make it quieter and create smaller bubbles. If I get one, where would I attach it?

Thanks in advance for the help.

That sponge will not allow an air stone.
Those would be in floor model sponges like aquatops.
Check valve goes in air line between pump and sponge.
Where? I usually go about 1 foot from pump.
You may want some kind of adjustable 'gang valve' to control flow ,split to have an airstone also if pump will run it, or to bleed off air if pump is too much for just one sponge...Remember to keep pump above water level if possible or have the airline go well above not just over rim where it can easily syphon....
I like the aquatops myself. I have many like that also.

Thank you for the quick response and your helpful advice! I greatly appreciate it. :)
