Sexing juvenile Pearl Gourami

Hey everybody! I just got a juvenile Pearl Gourami from my LFS. I wanted to get one as young as I could but yet be reasonably certain of the sex. I'm about 80% sure it's a male but the only thing that gets me is that "his" throat isn't very orange. Just want more opinions! Thanks in advance

The fact he has any orange at all when he yet to settle into your tank suggests he is a male. Judging by the length of the dorsal and anal fins, I would say this is a male. The fin extension filaments should start to develop soon.

I just zoomed in on your pics and think I can see fin filaments just starting to show. These are absolutely stunning fish when in full 'bloom'. My favourite gourami. I used to own a large pair of these and a pair of moonlights. Gorgeous
