Short broad leaf plants?

And if you want a convention starter there are some really cool color morphs of anubias but they are on the expensive side.

You're referring to the buces, right? They're awesome plants, just still somewhat rare and expensive. You can often find good bulk deals on TPT's classified section and then propagate them yourself, although they are not very fast growers. CO2 will help with growth rate although it isn't necessary. There are a lottttt of different types so you should be able to find the sort of specific leaf structure you're looking for. Just be prepared to pay around $10 per plant if you buy in bulk, or $15-$20 for smaller quantities. Good luck!
