Shovel head catfish

How hard would it be to domesticate a shovel head catfish? I know they get massive and would require a huge tank as the biggest I've seen was 4'7" caught in a lake by my house. Would I need to get one as a baby? I know they like minnows worms and plants

Its not feasible for very long. Then you have a large catfish with not much option on what to do with it. Zoos or such won't want it, same for most fish stores, and it shouldn't be returned to the wild. Really just not a great idea unless you have a BIG tank.

If you like the look of the fish itself the stonecat noturus flavus is a much smaller option, although they reach 12".
