Slate from Home Depot?

Hey all, I've been looking for some sort of slate to replace my driftwood. Something to create caves and what not. I was looking at Home Depot and they have a pack of 5 tiles for $8, a total of 30lbs. I was wondering if they would be safe to use?

Any tips of breaking it up? Hammer? Drop them?

It is totally safe I just used them on building a fireplace. All they are is slate tjats been cut. You can split them with a screwdriver and you can break them with a hammer. They also sell these that would be safe aswell and you may like better. They keep them outside with the brick and all. If you do go with the other that I showed you the backing can be peeled off and the glue will come right off aswell when you scrape it.
