Small tank (3 & 10 gallon) stocking ideas

A friend wants to get some pets for her school. She has a ten gallon and a three gallon.

She's new to fishkeeping, so I want these to be easy to keep.

So far, I'm considering a betta or dwarf frogs for the ten gallon and snails/shrimp for the three. What other options are there?

I think that's a good call - I'd go with a betta as well. Short fin to reduce any risk of fin rot.
