Well, I don't think my new Betta is gonna make it, he refuses every form of food I offer. If he croaks, I was wondering if I could put a Clown Pleco in the 2.5 or is that way too small. I figure they don't move around too much, I change the water almost daily, and he would be by himself. Is that just wrong? If not, I'll just get a bunch of endlers.

*(Edit) As usual I went and found a post pertaining to this very question AFTER I post mine. I found the answer under 7Enigmas post about "Saving a fish from a cramped lifestyle". That's enough for me.

Yup, a 2.5 is too small for this fish. They are much smaller in adulthood than common pleco's but I wouldn't recommend housing one in anything smaller than a 20gallon. A 10gallon would probably work, but I don't think a 5" fish should be in anything smaller than 20gallons IMO. Very similar to my BN pleco in max size....and he/she is in my 20gallon.

A 10g will be fine for a Clown Pleco for a little while. I have mine in a 10g and he's only maybe 2.5" max.

He does have a new home being set up though. A nice wide 40g breeder for him to roam around and be king of. Afterall his name is Augustus!

Be prepared to rarely see one though. Mine hides all day until I put food out for him. He'll shove all the other fish and shrimp out of the way for an algae waffer.
