Invertebrates are much more sensitive to water quality than fish. While a very healthy invert may last a short time in those conditions, I wouldn't expose them to it at all. That said, I wouldn't expose fish to those conditions either.

I suppose it depends on which type of snails you are asking about. Pond snails probably could. They can survive a lot, or just reprodue so fast you don't notice the die off :lol: Apple or mystery snails are another story. They are quite sensitive to water quality. They can close up to protect themselves, but nitrites in particular cause foot swelling. Foot swelling doesn't allow them to move well or close up completely. If I slack on water changes, my snails are the first to complain. They start sliming and heading for the top of the water.
