Snail detection

If plants are cleaned in Potassium Permanganate and then put into a quarantine tank, how long should it be before any possible snails are big enough to see.

Is it true that you could get snails in tank in store water bags that contain fish?

I'm not sure on the first, I find that by the time you can see one, you know there are more. Sorry, not a snail fan

On the second I think you would have to be unlucky.
