So I was looking at my tank and noticed a snail hanging out on a piece of driftwood. Any idea what kind it is? Will it eat my plants?

Looks like a pond snail. Their numbers can explode if you overfeed or if you don't clean your tank too often but they're harmless and I don't mind them in my tank. They don't eat plants and in fact do a great job of eating up decaying plant matter. If they get too out of hand you can always look up DIY snail traps or look into getting a few assassin snails.
