Snail ID plz.

I didn't know I had any snails until this fellow showed up today with a few friends. He was eating dead leaves off the filter intake. Anyone recognize him?

It looks like what they call ramshorn snails i believe ... this is a pic of a red one ... but you get the idea ....

LOL...yep, that is a ramshorn. $1.50 a piece huh? I should go into business immediately as I have 100's.

I think you have to have both a boy and girl snail to make more. Or is that just apple snails aka mystery snails??? I know physa acuta are hermies it only takes one snail to take over your tank LOL.

ramshorns are asexual, therefore yes, you will. The good thing is, they aren't exactly pests and will chow down on plant debris and not the plants. I have a feeling I know where that one came from.

If you don't want snails, get 'em out before they lay eggs. After they do, it's too late

I have those...they breed like rapid fire 8O but my dwarf puffer likes em so hey...endless food supply ^^
