Don't do the supposed 'snail control' chemical, it's not half as good as you might think ! I reckon it just knock's them out for a while... then they're back. You're supposed to treat, then collect the 'sleepy' snails before they recover, trouble is the egg's appear unaffected so it's not long before you have to do again. I'm not keen on chemical treatment because it treats the whole water system, so your fish have to swim in it too !! I don't imagine the fish would put up with it by choice. I'm going to try the lettuce-trick, but suspect this too fails to get the egg's (hmmm, wonder what makes me think that !).
