Snails from Wild

So my brother and I would like some snails for our tanks, but the fish stores in my area no longer sell them.
Anyways we have a pond near our house and we have seen snails there before, and want to collect a few. I was wondering if there was any way to 'quarantine' them or if anyone else has any tips for us.

I wouldn't collect snails from the wild. You could introduce parasites and other bad stuff from the wild into your aquarium. I'd go on Aquarium Fish: Tropical Freshwater Fish and Saltwater Fish for Home Aquariums and order some instead. They're extremely reliable, package well, and have a great selection. I often order from them and they haven't failed me yet!

Lots of people here on this forum sell different types of snails too -- check out the classified section. I've also purchased certain snails on eBay pretty cheaply too.
