I am currently setting up a SA biotype in a 10 gallon tank. The tank will be planted with amazon swords and bannana plants. I intend on getting a school of cardinal or neon tetras and maybe some green tetras if i can find some. The Ph of my tap is 7.2 however i have ordered some mopani wood to safely lower the Ph so my tetras will be more incined to spawn. Will this wood keep the Ph down to a level where the tetras will be happy ? Also will there be Ph fluctuations after a water change? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
