spinal fins not growing back?

2 months ago i bought a yellow lab he had some bites in his superior fins but now since his first arrival his fins havent grow back

hes housed with other mbunas kenyis etc ph 7.5 temp 28

one of my kenyis got his tail fin badly bitten weeks ago and it growed back normally like any other fish would do but with my yellow lab his spinals fins are the same he has grow to since i got him

If it's the spines they likely may not grow back or they will take a long time, I've personally never seen them grow back, but if it is the soft rays on the anterior portion of the fin it will regrow fairly quick.
