I think my 33g is almost fishless cycled. The nitrites are falling after about 4 weeks. How much of my final stocking can I put in when it's cycled? Would 8 glowlight tetras be too much? Or those AND a pair of Bolivian rams? It's a juwel rio 125 with factory filter and lighting, ecocomplete and moderately planted.
Also, is an airstone necessary. I've read it limits the co2 for the plants.
Thanks

Tanktop, sounds like you're getting there the right way. When I set up my first tank (20g), I was told to add just a small number of fish (6x neons in mine) to ensure the filter was ready to take on the ammonia efficiently. I have always tried to be careful with addition of stock on this basis and never had a problem, so I stick to what works for me. Bolivian Rams are a bit costly, I would be considering them once I can confirm the filter is up to speed. Water testing on a regular basis to see that it's all working how it should. My local fish supplier is a genuine enthusiast who advises how best to get the most from the hobby. If you have a likewise genuine supplier, they would want you to be successful so you are more likely to go back to them. Lot's of 'AA's here will tell you about their 'Petco' or 'Petsmart' retail chain adventures not going too good. The real answer is to find an aquatic specialist (not a general pet supplies retailer) where the staff are enthusiasts and know their stuff, then see what they suggest too :)
