Strange aquarium plant??!!

[Just keep swimming]

I recently found a live plant growing in my fish tank. Its a 20 gallon long with a single male betta. The tank has NO live plants and never has. Heres a picture of it:

My questions are: Is it even acuatic? Is it safe to leave in my aquarium? Will it die soon(cuase i don't think its fully acuatic)?

And YES i cycled my tank before putting the betta in.

It's too small with no open leaf to tell what it might be so let it grow cause it is aquatic and once bigger and ID can probably be made.
