Good evening,
My local..ugh..Petsmart has some "peacock" eels in stock. Though by looking at photos online I'm pretty sure they're Striped Peacock eels. I love the look and personality of these guys and want to get one or two for my 55 gallon. I want them and my other fish to be happy so had some questions for experienced aquarists out there...
1) Do Striped Peacocks get larger than Common Peacocks?
2) Will Striped Peacocks eat my Zipper or Zebra loaches? I have 3 of each and they're all around 3 inches long. There is also a small Rubber Lip pleco in there as well and he too is about 3 inches long.
3) ..I have Tiger barbs in there as well. 10 total. Too much harassment for the Striped Peacock? They dont bother my loaches but they did force me to move all of my corydoras to a 40 gallon breeder.
The tank is kept at a constant 78 Degrees.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...whether it leads me to think twice about getting these or not. Thanks!
