Substrate layered vs mixed

I have 30 lbs of eco complete and 50 lbs of sand, in my tank should I layer the two or mix them?

You should have a third option...neither. Either Eco OR Sand. Mixing the two is not a good idea

I meant sand, and I added dwarf hairgrass. It looks nice, water is still a little cloudy. But nice.
I added wisteria, amazon sword, java fern, anubius, dwarf hairgrass.
