I'm having a little trouble with the amount of flow/current I have in my tank. My tanks quite narrow for its size 54"long 26" deep 12" wide, I'm running a canister filter that's ticking along nicely with what seems to be plenty of flow through the entire aquarium apart from a 10" surface section at the opposite end from the filter outlet where I'm getting a cloudy surface... The filters rated at 2000lph and is running at full flow and circulating nicely. I've tried spray bars and just a hose straight into the tank just below the surface to try to get better surface flow but still have the same 10" dead spot.

Any ideas how I can improve the flow in this area.

Many thanks

I installed one of the $10 Fluval surface Skimmer and attached it to the intake of filter. Adds a slow draw of surface movement, cleared the film on surface of my tank.
