I want to switch my filter from a 40g brackish to my 29g FW. Will there be any problems, or is this a bad idea?

So that means I will have to re-cycle the tank? By washing the filter and changing the media, wont that rid the beneficial bacteria?

the bacteria in a brackish setup is the same as a sw setup... so either way, the bacteria currently in the filter on the brackish tank wont do anything for you in the fw tank

Just seed the new filter with the current filter on the 29g, should be ready within a couple weeks and no need to recycle.

What I will most likely do is run both filters on the 29g for a month or so. I am no real hurry because I am turning the 40g into a pretty wild looking paludarium. I was just wondering if I could go from BW to FW like that.
