Talking catfish is stuck

Hi, I need some advice on how to remove my talking catfish from the bottom of a vase. The vase is normally home to my ghost knife but the catfish has moved in but is now stuck. I have tried allsorts but he won't budge. Any suggestions that will not hurt him please?

What about pouring some water in it? The flow of water might help budge him?

I tried that and he won't move! Smashing the vase seems to be the only answer but I don't want to harm him.

Guessing u tried leaving upside down or food to bring him out. Only other idea is to use a siphon hose to try to suction him out? As long as he wont fit into the tube obv just the barrel. Might hurt less than smashing vase

I have left it upside and tried lifting the vase slowly out of the water causing a vacuum type of effect but his stubborn! I'll try the syphon later. The worse that can happen is I give him a big hicky I suppose!
