About to finish up the 150 gallon setup to start cycling just need to add my cichlid sand and cichlid rocks (40 total). My one question is the filter media I have will that be enough for nowin the sump? Do have a sponge to put on top but wondering If possible I should add more. I have the duel bonded filter pad and then a good bit of filter floss. Also have one more gallon of bio balls on the way.

Hmmm I've never used a sump before but ill take a crack at it. Ive read and done some research on them before. Now if I were u I'll fill up my sump full of filter media to take advantage of the space u have for extra filtration (I'm referring to Ur pic, the pic looks like it's about half filled). also in sw bioballs are known to be a nitrate factory. Are u able to afford a better kinda biological media? Seachem matrix is quite cheap and are one of the best.

Regarding Ur silicon, it looks real horrible to me. To be safe I'll remove that section if possible and redo it myself. Use pure silicon and cure it by soaking it for a few weeks.

In the second pic of the seam pics, it looks like white silicone, which many times has fungicides and can be harmful to fish. Not sure what the first seam pic is about, but if you did a fill job on the seam rather than resealing the whole panel, I'd do a 10 day water test in the garage first, if it were my tank.

Sorry but I don't know anything about FW sumps, but Google has about 150K results for you to check out.

Yeah I got the sump worked out. Just need to see about the seems. It held for 4 days but I drained it. They guy before me had it set up as a salwater and it was fine for a year. just wondering if I should just go with it since it holds. The clear stuff was me it's safe silicone I bought from big ALS. Had some left over from sump and just threw it on there in case
