tank cleaning

So I have a 2 month old tank and kinda ignored some cleaning. My question is it has this white stuff hard stuff on hood and filter what is it and how to clean. Thanks

Sounds like it could be lime scale. I have hard water and this happens fairly regular. Is it around the level of the surface of the water
I clean it with a paper towel soaked in vinegar.
