My 2nd pleco is trying to escape my tank??
Last week I had a 5" pleco climb completely out of my tank and was found dead infront of my patio door.
Now 5 min. ago I found my 2nd pleco in the top of my filter.
Why are they going above the water level? And how?

I just salted my 125 gal so I can't add him to that tank.
I'm baffled

Are you sure the levels in your tank are acceptable? he could be trying to escape bad water.

and theres no bullies in the tank thats beating up on him is there?

I used to have a Albino pleco that loved to climb above the water line, He never left the tank but he would " suckerwalk " his way up the glass until he was totally out of the water, only to dive back in.

He liked to dive I guess, Maybe it was just a quirk.

Maybe its just a quirk with yours, something he learned from the one that died before? :?

I'm curious about your substrate, and what you have in your tank to make a pleco feel at home? Plecos love to lounge aabout on driftwood. Do you have any in your tank?
