Terrapin advice

So I work for Environmental Health in Scotland and one part of the job is searching through houses and apartments for drugs/needles after a suspected user has either died, moved out or gone to prison. One house we did yesterday had a Terrapin in it. Still living, which surprised me, although the tank is in a poor state.

I'm going to pick it up today, clean it and rehouse it. Besides the salmonella risk, is there anything else I should know about them and general tank care/water conditions?

Actually, just got told that the RSPCA guy dealt with it yesterday. Nevermind.
